UNICEF Albania, in collaboration with WHO, is supporting MoH in organizing a subregional meeting in Tirana with theme: "Vaccination in vulnerable population-shared solutions and common threats in South East Europe". The overall aim of the meeting will be to develop a common sub regional platform reflecting the best practices and solutions of immunization programmes in SEE countries to reach every vulnerable community.
Moreover, UNICEF will be supporting regional health authorities to reach Roma children with immunization plus activities:
a) door to door mopping up of the Roma communities in close collaboration with Roma mediators to identify children that have missed out or are delayed with immunization schedule and immunize them
b) organize child health day activities delivering immunization plus (immunization, growth monitoring, antenatal care, nutrition education etc) in targeted Roma communities.
Activities will kick off in Tirana, Durres, Elbasan, Fier during the EIW and will continue throughout the year.
